Jack-o-lanterns!

Saturday night we decided to make the best of our pumpkins and turn them into Jack-o-lanterns.  Of course my oldest boy wanted his to be "berry pooky", so we made his have sharp teeth and mean looking eyes, he was thrilled.  The husband and I have been carving pumpkins every Fall since we've been married so it's become a tradition and now that we have kids it is one of my favorite nights of the year!

The Great Pumpkin Hunt

We loaded the kids up Friday afternoon and headed north to take our annual trip to Huber Farms for our great pumpkin hunt.  The day couldn't have been more beautiful for a trip to the orchard.  The only trouble was finding pumpkins small enough that the boys could carry back to the tractor themselves.  Of course they both kept grabbing either rotten ones or green ones, but we weren't in a hurry and it was priceless seeing them run through fields and fields of pumpkins.  The boys ended up finding perfect pumpkins and so did the hubby and I.  And, with a little help from Daddy we all made it back to the tractor with pumpkins in tow.  What a great family tradition!

Beautiful weekend

The hubby had a business trip in Orlando this last week and originally we were all going to head down there with him, but since I'm big and pregnant the doc advised me to stay home and hubby ended up taking our oldest boy with him.  So instead of sitting around moping this weekend, me and the middle boy and B.I.B decided to head up to Brown County Indiana with my mom and youngest sis.  It was such a beautiful day, the leaves are gorgeous right now.  On the way we stopped at a historic Inn and Restaurant and my sis captured this sweet picture of me and my little man swinging on an old tree swing that hung from an old walnut tree.

Boo-Boo

Well, this picture definitely doesn't do it justice, but my middle boy took a great tumble down the steps this week and had his first trip to the ER.  I would have taken a photo right after the incident to show the giant goose-egg that popped up instantly, but it made me nauseated to even glance at it.  Rushing to the ER I was just sure his skull was cracked open causing his brains to bulge out from his head.  Luckily I'm just very pessimistic.  Ended up being just a big knot right under the skin...no fractured skull! The husband and I didn't see the fall but we both heard it, and it's a horrifying sound no one should have to hear.  There are about 15 steps leading down to our basement and since we didn't witness the fall we had to rely on the information our 3 year old provided us.  His number one statement concerning the whole incident was, "I didn't push him, I didn't push him!"  Alright we got that loud and clear!  Thankfully my nerves were eased as we waited in the Emergency room to be seen and the boys ran around laughing and playing (and fighting), I knew at that point my middle boy couldn't have been injured too seriously.   I'm sure this won't be our last late night visit to the ER with 3 boys.

Mom and Dad

So, I've definitely been slacking in the blogging arena lately and I also haven't taken many photos for that matter.  I got in the photo library on my computer and began searching for a nice picture to post for today, and this one of my mom and dad  (AKA: Ma-maw and Pa-paw) popped out at me.  I love this picture of them, I took it recently at a family wedding.  They clean up quite nice :)  My mom and I are two peas in a pod.  She thinks I'm really high maintenance but I think she's really high maintenance (I think we're both in denial!)  My boys are absolutely obsessed with these two people!  My oldest begs me all the time to spend the night with Ma-maw and Pa-paw.  We live a couple hours apart which isn't too bad, but I still wish I could see them everyday!  Love you mom and dad!
